About Clinical Trials: QuickLink: Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trial Information

17,500 Patients Needed to Enroll in Major Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Recently a group of experts from the oncology research community, academia, cancer cooperative groups, patient advocacy and industry identified ten trials as high priority colorectal clinical studies that address important research opportunities and merit support for rapid completion.  Combined, these ten large studies require more than 17,500 participants.

The Coalition’s Scientific Leadership Council in Gastrointestinal Cancer presented these trials as part of their recommendations for the future direction of colorectal cancer research at a forum in Washington DC in December 2005 and at a major GI cancer meeting in San Francisco in January 2006.

Following is a list of these ten priority colorectal cancer clinical trials.  The first listing is a screening trial for the detection of colon polyps and cancer in healthy participants.  The nine listings that follow are treatment trials for colorectal cancer patients.  Please click here to determine if you are eligible for these treatment trials.
